
David AKA Big Dave has worked with young people over the past 25 years in various settings. David started off working with Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project as a Youth Support Worker before taking up the post of T.R.I.A.L Worker ( Tackling Real Issues and Accessing Learning). David formed good relationships with the young people through his delivery of programmes and his work around the streets. David is now the Project Coordinator of Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project and with his knowledge and experience he brings together a multi disciplined highly trained team who excel in cutting edge, good practice, detached youth work procedures. David has also developed partnerships with other organisations such as Youth Justice Agency, Young People’s Project, Youth Action and many more.
David gained his degree in 2004 and qualified as a teacher in 2007 and has recently completed his Master’s.

Joanne AKA Wee Joanne Weir started working as a Youth Support Worker at Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project on July 2005. She has a background in administration and business but changed course due to her passion for young people in her area. Joanne has been our longest serving Youth Support Worker but recently was appointed The Rank Youth Development Worker and with her knowledge and experience she will deliver high quality and fun programmes for the young people from the Brownlow area. Joanne has completed her OCN Level 2 + 3 in youth work, ECDL training and also gained her Access Diploma in Social Sciences. Joanne is currently working towards completing her degree in Youth Work.

Barry AKA Bazza has loads of experience when it comes to working with young people as he has been involved in the Sports and Youth Work industries for the past eight years. Barry is the Youth Development Officer for The Plugged In Programme and delivers projects to the young people from the Brownlow area.
Barry has his HND in Leisure Management and hopes in the future to do his Degree in Youth work and Youth Justice. Barry also has his OCN level 2 & 3 in youth work, Child Protection, ECDL awards, Assist training, Fitness instructor award, IFA Goalkeeping, IFA Level 1 and IFA ‘C’ awards. Barry is keen to further his knowledge in the Youth Work industry so that his can benefit the young people in further projects.
Barry is a keen sports man and plays for his local Football team (Craigavon City) and Gaelic team (Eire Og) and is also involved in coaching local football and Gaelic teams.

Louise AKA Wee Rocket has been our longest serving worker at Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project as she has been here from September 2005. Louise is our Financial Administrator and looks after all the accounts and keeps us all right when it comes to budgets and figures. Louise has also recently taken on the role of Health and Safety Officer for Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project and also works as a mentor to young people on a one to one basis. Louise has a keen passion for the project and the young people and over the years she has said the project has grown from strength to strength. Louise has gained her BTEC National Diploma in Business and Finance, SELB Child Protection training, ECDL and recently completed her Sage Computerised Accounting in 2011. Louise has also completed her NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy and does beauty treatments on a part time basis.

Before starting youth work Nadine studied to complete her NVQ Level 1 & 2 in hairdressing. She started youth work aged 17 when she flew to New York with the Face to Face/ Faith to Faith programme to feed the homeless in the Bronx and Harlem. Before that she had got the bug for charity and youth work the year before when she cycled across Ireland for drugs and alcohol awareness. She raised over £1000 for her efforts.
Nadine also has her OCN 2 & 3 and Trainee Leader certificate in Youth Work, as well as child protection training. She keeps her knowledge current by regularly attending training and development programmes.

Paul has worked for DDYWP for approximately 5 years; he has a wide knowledge of the areas, residents, facilities available to us and the young people. He is well known by the young people and alot of them would call him ‘Big Paul’. Paul has completed numerous courses such as his OCN in Youth Work, Child Protection, Bounce Training, Assist, and Drugs & Alcohol. Paul’s specialist field would have to be around Drugs & Alcohol, he does a lot of work with the young people around this topic. Paul also does some work with Youth Justice; this involves Paul speaking to young people about consequences of their actions.

Has been working with DDYWP from February 2011 and is also a part time primary school teacher. She has her degree in primary education and dip he in community youth worker. She also spent a summer delivering a dance programme to disadvantaged young people in Chicago and has worked in Leeds doing play in the park, a detached play work session with young people aged 0-18 loves doing drama and has volunteered with drama groups around her area. In 2009 she ran the Belfast marathon and is currently doing a cook it programme on health eating. She will continue to do any necessary training that she needs through this organisation.

John AKA Otzil, MO MO, Farmer John has a lot of time for young people from the Craigavon area and has worked for Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project as a Youth Support Worker for nearly 2 years. John has recently completed his Access Course in Social Sciences and is keen to go on to complete a degree in Youth Work. John has also completed his Child Protection training, Assist training and is keen to do other courses that will benefit him in his work. John has a keen interest in sports and coaches a local football team and with his keen interest he has completed his IFA C and UEFA B awards.
John has another hobby which is farming and in his collection of farm animals he has 39 chicks, a pony, 2 goats, 17 lambs and 10 sheep. All he needs now is his COMBINED HARVESTER and his STRAW HAT and he will be a proper farmer.

Eve started working with Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project in November 2007. Eve has a good relationship with the young people and they all have a lot of respect for her. Eve has completed her OCN level 2 and 3 in youth work, ECDL, Assist training, Level 1 and 2 in Alcohol and Drugs, Child Protection and Bounce training. Eve is now involved in working with young people through the Youth Justice Agency and she really enjoys this work as it gives her a chance to use her knowledge and experience that will benefit the young people. Eve also works for the SELB for Lurgan Youth Annexe doing centre based work so is always being kept on her toes.

Julie Ann has been with DDYWP from the age of 16, she started as a young person and worked her way up to volunteering, and now she’s a youth support worker for the organisation. Julie Ann has her OCN 1,2 & 3 in youth work, ECDL in computers, child protection, has completed a lot of drugs and alcohol and mental Health training, and has also got her 200 Millennium Volunteer award. Julie Ann hopes to go on and do a degree in Youth work in the future. Julie Ann loves acting, as she always says “she’ll be on TV someday”. She’s really good at writing stories, raps and poems. Julie Ann also loves her football, as she’s a die heart Liverpool fan, and plays for Craigavon City ladies; she also has a level 1 in football coaching.

Jason AKA Jasy as often known started with D.D.Y.W.P in April 2011. He has been involved in youth work for a number of years now both as a participant and as a worker. He has completed a number of training courses including OCN level 2 and 3 in youth work, level 3 Diploma in Youth work, Drugs and alcohol 1,2, and 3. Also he has completed an OCN level 3 Train the trainer for Drugs and Alcohol practioners. Jason has also spent a number of weeks in the Philippines doing youth and community work with different organisations. He is a big sport fan and supports Liverpool F.C. (more than Julie Ann). Haha.

Terri is one of Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project’s newest recruits and she has taken to her post of Youth Support Worker really well. Terri has a lot of experience when it comes to young people as she has worked at the Cabin Club in Portadown for several years. Terri is currently on her maternity after giving birth to a baby boy and is due back later in the year.

we have a bank of 4 volunteers that work for Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project and they do up to two nights on the streets with the Youth Support Workers and also help out doing programme work with Barry and Joanne. The volunteers are Declan Conway, Caitriona Sheridan, Johnny Blake and Stephen Johnston.
